vegan-cookies-invade-your-cookie-jarThere was a lot of great feedback on last month’s Vegetarian and Vegan Cookbooks post, so much that I decided to do another! This time, we asked the folks at the dirty hippie and the bohemian girl for a list of their favorite vegan cookbooks and here is what they suggested along with their comments.

Vegan Handbook by Debra Wasserman and Reed Mangels

A great starter vegan book with recipes, nutritional info, essays, and more. It’s comprehensive in every way!

Celebrate Vegan by Dynise Balcavage

Social occasions are among the hardest for vegans and this book brings them all back. Anyone can go to the table and enjoy this food.

Simply Vegan by Debra Wasserman and Reed Mangels

This book is rock solid, easy to use and accessible. A must-have for anyone on a plant-based diet!

Betty Goes Vegan by Dan Shannon and Annie Shannon

This book is HUGE and makes all the old-school Americana classics veg-friendly! Huge breakfast and dessert sections too!

Veganomicon by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero

It really is the ultimate vegan cookbook. If you only buy one, get this one!

The Joy of Vegan Baking by Colleen Patrick-Goudreu

This is the vegan dessert book you want on your shelf! The recipes work, they’re simple, and the ingredients aren’t hard to find.

Or these three little books are also super. We love them and have given them as gifts almost a dozen time: Vegan Pie in the SkyVegan Cupcakes Take Over the Worldand Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar.

Lori here: much thanks to both the Dirty Hippie and the Bohemian Girl for their great suggestions! I just got really hungry! Be sure to visit their blog, and share their adventures in eco-living and vegan food!
